We already got you used to us scooping the file-sharing scene for bits of info, news and releases from ‘the big names’ and gather them all up here in one place to make it easier for you to stay updated properly as a genuine file-sharing freak, music & movie lover and tech geek. So here comes a new treat courtesy of BitTorrent’s blog:

With the summer release of Man of Steel, we can’t help but wonder how the latest Superman, played by Henry Cavill, stacks up against his predecessors. For decades, it seemed that Christopher Reeve was the perfect archetype for Kal-El, son of Jor-El. But a generation before, the small screen had the popular black-and-white TV series starring George Reeves.

More recently, TV offered us Tom Welling of Smallville, who had been the first TV Superman since Dean Cain in the 90’s. Of course, we can’t forget that this all started with comic books, where there have been several incarnations of Kal-El, including a Superman that had a boxing match against Muhammad Ali – IN SPACE!

To help you make a fair assessment, we’ve included a link here to a few classic episodes of the animated Superman, preserved for digital posterity by the Internet Archive.

New Album by Kanye West ‘Debuts’ On File-Sharing Sites: ‘Yeezus’

Kanye West’s long-awaited sixth studio album, “Yeezus,” is due for release tomorrow and it remained pretty secretive until the past few days when news that it leaked online rushed fans but also those curious about the rapper’s new material over to file-sharing websites

The artist gave his fans a taste of album on “Saturday Night Live,” and according to Billboard his new stuff is “plain mad”, “a medley of several genres — new wave, punk, rock, and of course hip-hop,” or as The New York Times calls it – “raw and bumpy, with the arbitrary whims of a studio despot.”

Kanye’s previous release – 2010′s ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ brought the 14-time Grammy-winning producer, writer and performer a rare perfect 10 rating on Pitchfork.com.

The “Yeezus” album art (sort of) also found its way on the internet. The CD will be released in a clear, jewel case and has a red sticker on the front. The back of the ‘Yeezus’ CD cover includes a yellow sticker and limited credits.

“Game of Thrones” Beats New Record for Downloads

When season 3 of HBO’s Game of Thrones came out with its first episode it only took 24 hours to become the most searched for and downloaded file on filesharing websites; Not long after it seems that a new record was set – and the same TV show did it

When it comes to Game of Thrones the term ‘epic’ is easily brought up – it applies just as well to the success of the TV series on BiTorrent - reportedly, just minutes after Season 3, Episode 10 of GT was officially broadcast in the US on Sunday night, more than 170,000 people were sharing it at the same time.

According to reports, Australia is the leader in Game Of Thrones downloads, followed by the pirates in US, Canada and the UK.

Game of Thrones is no stranger to records – last year it claimed the “most pirated show” title and back in April, we reported the series hitting 1m downloads in less than 24 hours after the debut of the season. Up to that time BitTorrent had never witnessed such a large swarm – more than 160,000 peers sharing simultaneously (with the US totalling the largest number of downloads and the UK and Australia occupying the second and third position in the ‘chart’).

TorrentFreak has published the data they collected with the top 10 most shared movies on BitTorrent for the week ended April 15. All the films included in this chart are DVDrips (unless mentioned otherwise).

While ‘Gangster Squad’ keeps its leading position for another week two newcomers step in and take over the second and third spots:horror-comedy ‘A Haunted House’, respectively crime-thriller ‘Broken City’.

TorrentFreak has published the data they collected with the top 10 most shared movies on BitTorrent for the week ended April 7. All the films included in this chart are DVDrips (unless mentioned otherwise).

Being a highly-anticipated movie this year by the Tommy-gun-flicks enthusiasts, this week ‘Gangster Squad’ accumulated the largest number of downloads over the filesharing sites. While ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ climbs to #2, ‘Django Unchained’, last week’s leader drops to the third spot.
