MP3 Rocket is one of LimeWire’s siblings and, as expected, proves pretty much the same functionality. Searching for a file via MP3 Rocket will get you results from LimeWire, and the other way around.
Still, there are some differences. The application is not limited to music searches as its name might get you to think. It’s able to search for and download all file formats. This includes the recent addition of torrent support to the main LimeWire code. The most music-oriented feature allows file sharers to swap their iTunes music folder directly just as they were on a shared network.
The program has the standard file-sharing capacity for downloading movies, MP3s, games and other. It supports the Gnutella network for searching files.
It has come up with a “Most Popular” feature through which users can vote for and find the most popular music and films and as ranked by other MP3 Rocket users.
With this software you have access to live on-demand streams including over 3,000 movies and TV shows, plus a Live Radio feature through which you can connect to more than 1,000 live radio stations, and a Game Player that makes available about 1,000 games.
MP3 Rocket puts out video streaming. This way you can watch numerous live feeds from CNN, Fox News, the Discovery Channel, ESPN, Spike TV, and Comedy Central among others. Additionally, it includes on-demand streaming from the Cartoon Network, the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, HBO, and more.
There are also links to sites with quality video streaming content such as HULU, QuickSilverScreen, and XOXO Online available on MP3 Rocket.
Of course MP3 Rocket couldn’t escape the flaws typical for all LimeWire-based software. Still, we can say that its performance it’s satisfactory.
