ShareGhost Review

ShareGhost is a very nice little app based on the original (later acquired by record labels) p2p client Shareaza but with extra-functionality. In terms of connections it’s quite resourceful as it supports multiple networks: Gnutella2, Gnutella, eDonkey, and BitTorrent.
The program is indeed user-friendly (you will be able to figure out most of its options and features in no time) and loads up useful features like multinetwork support, ghost ratings, and a fully user-configurable queue area, extended file management system.
The inexperienced p2p user will love this: a Quick Start Wizard that helps you getting acquainted with this software and assists you in quickly configuring your copy of the client. More experienced users will have no problem accessing all the options and features include in the app by clicking on ‘Tools’. You can set the right Internet connection, select which files to share, select the p2p networks you wish to connect to and other. Similar to an increasing number of file sharing programs which tend to become more “sociable”, ShareGhost comes with an IRC Chat Channel to help you keep in touch with your p2p buddies.
ShareGhost scores good points with its interface: clean, simple, intuitively constructed: it includes an upper and lower tool bar; the upper bar manages network connections, views, tools and help documentation while the latter offers access to ‘internal’ options such as “home”, “library”, “media player”, “search” and “transfers”.
For those of you who can’t wait for a file to download before having a little peek or simply want to know the quality of the movie being downloaded, ShareGhost includes an integrated media player for file-preview.
Strong Points: ShareGhost is rich-featured, finds many sources and has a great file-management system.
Weak Points: not always very fast.
Overall: One of the most efficient, easy-to-work-with p2p clients now available.
