BitLord is a p2p file-sharing application that fully supports .torrent files – the p2p protocol that has taken over the scene over the last years.
What does it offer?
The app offers simultaneous downloads, download queue, fast-resume of downloads, selected downloads in torrent package, chatting (read more about the feature further below) , disk cache, speed limits, port mapping, proxy, and IP-filter. Version 1.1 introduces integrated Web browser.
The interface has a similar look to that of the original torrent program, BitTorrent; however due to the colorful icons and a general clean layout (though there’s still room for improvement) it’s somewhat easier to be very clear about each function.
The handiest adjustment is the introduction of torrent-managing icons, though they were placed in the lower-left section of the screen (which is not exactly the most noticeable spot).
BitLord includes numerous languages available, (even Polish and Thai!) and it’s free of charge. The program comes with ads and adds an ‘XXX Chat’ button that opens a window of webcam links to, yes, adult sites (money has to come from somewhere, right?). Yet, parents shouldn’t be concerned – you can’t get any adult-oriented content from these sites without throwing in a credit card.
The install wizard is very simple and practical. Don’t forget to check the ‘associate with .torrent files’box.
You can easily create a .torrent file to share your own material with BitLord (using “create”). Just select your file or directory and hit ‘ok’. If you’ve selected a large file or set of files, there’s a delay. After you create your torrent file, you have to upload it to a website, where such files are categorized, generally organized and finally put on view for download. You (should) probably know that rules for uploading .torrents depend on the site you choose and there are plenty such .torrent sites that require membership.
Free, very user-friendly, no setup needed.
Comes with minimal support, GUI issues, includes sex chat ads.
BitLord is a BitTorrent client written in C++ for Microsoft Windows based on the free BitComet client and modified to include ads. The program is powerful, fast, and easy to understand and use.
