BitHost Review

BitHost is a useful, versatile BitTorrent client that offers a series of user-friendly features, configurable options and provides support for popular networks such as Gnutella2, Gnutella, eDonkey, and BitTorrent. Developed using the original code of the former Shareaza client, BitHost primarily stands out through its simple, intuitive interface, fast download speeds and comprehensive search results.

Considering the application can also function as a content manager, helping users in the handling and sorting of downloads, as well as other files on their hard disk drives, BitHost deserves a plus for practicality.

In addition, it is possible for users to deactivate the automatic management for the download queue in order to operate it manually. In either automatic or manual operation mode, BitHost is a powerful tool for tracking the status of downloads and keeping them well organized.

The application allows for advanced configuration of most features to better match your bandwidth settings and priority list, and provides a preview mode for downloads in progress using a built-in media player for common audio and video formats.

BitHost includes other useful features such as multiple simultaneous downloading, results display in separate tabs, advanced file hashing, options for adding reviews, user comments, and ratings.

At present, BitHost is designed to work exclusively on Windows platforms. The application is available free of charge and contains no hidden malware.
