So here’s a list with last week’s top ten most downloaded p2p file sharing programs – the chart is based on figures published by Download.cnet.com and it refers to the number of times a p2p client was downloaded from their site (to download programs click on the titles – between brackets are displayed the current versions of the apps).

U.S. Fans of Sandi Thom Get Her Album As Free Download Thanks to Publicists’ Mistake

Scottish singer Sandi Thom has recently made her fans happy without even knowing it – a press release appearing on several U.S. news blogs inadvertently offered a link to a free download of her latest album.

The error was traced back to the publicists of the star whose hit “I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)” made her very popular shortly in both Europe and U.S. Apparently, they forgot to specify to the reporters and bloggers on their email blast that the download link that had been provided was only meant for news and review purposes. Hence, the announcement for the North American release of “Flesh and Blood”, the artist’s new album, in all the articles it featured came with an unexpected bonus.

Sandi was prompt to tweet her comment upon learning about the blunder her publicists made and it wasn’t a desperate comment either:

“Blooper with press release! Prteam forgot to remove link to album for Free! Everyone from Fox news, Yahoo printed it!

“Thousands of U.S fans downloaded it for free!! Yikes!! But at the same time – Cool!!”

“Flesh and Blood” saw its European release back in September.

Top 10 Most Downloaded Movies on BitTorrent

TorrentFreak has published the data they collected with the top 10 most shared movies on BitTorrent for the week ended April 1. All the films included in this chart are DVDrips (unless mentioned otherwise).

Tarantino’s latest bloody cinematic adventure returns to the chart this week straight as #1 – ‘Django Unchained’ is the most popular movie among file-sharing aficionados. Next in line is ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ dropping one place since last week and newcomer ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ occupying the third position.

This week’s chart features three new entries.

Lossless.cd – A Wonderful Collection Of Music Genres

For all music enthusiasts out there, we have great news. A couple of days ago we’ve stumbled upon a website that’s both attractive and useful – codename Lossless.cd

In our search for more and more sources of downloading music, we’ve came across LossLess.cd. The portal’s interface is simple, but appealing and extremely easy to use.

First of all, before downloading anything, one must register with the website. You’ll find that the process is quite easy – all you have to do is to provide with a username, a password, and an e-mail address (just to be sure you can recover your password if anything happens).

After setting up your account, more features are revealed, such as the “Add to favorites” button, and a Menu button that shows your private messages, a profile manager, last comments, and new posts.

Here you will find artists’ albums from different genres, including blues, classical, hip-hop, metal, reggae, and jazz.

Furthermore, if you wish to find your favorite artist faster, you can either use the website’s handy index (top of the page) or the search box (top right of the page).

Each album/artist is shown as an attractive CD-like cover (if you hover your mouse over the cover, you will see the full version of the album art, which is pretty amazing), alongside with useful information – the year it was released, genre, size, RIP type, etc.

But LossLess.cd’s best feature is yet to be revealed – all the music you will find here is of the best quality (all files are .flac).

You will notice that once you click the “Details” button, a new window will show you the album’s track list and a “Download” button at the end of that list. Further down, LossLess.cd offers a list of suggestions based on the album you’ve previously clicked, a comment section where you can offer some feedback, and a YouTube link that gives you a heads up about the artist.

Last but not least, you can share your preferences with your friends and family by clicking the Facebook like button or sharing it through Google+.

This week ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ stubbornly climbs to the top of the chart again, pushing the other fantasy flick ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ down to #2. The third position on the list is occupied by action-thriller ‘Broken City’ .
