Free Downloads Tips Of The Week

BitTorent blog has some nice tips we are spreading further about some nice free downloads you may find to your liking. Here’s what this week has to offer. 

Some of you may have heard of Willis Earl Beal – the Chicago born artist and musician, some not. Either way, one of his hobbies, and I personally found this extremely creative, is to give away CD-Rs by leaving them in public places around New Mexico’s largest city, Albuquerque. As such, a BitTorrent team of enthusiasts, along with the artist, have come up with a 5-track EP BitTorrent bundle that includes songs from Willis’ incoming film - Principles of a Protagonist. You can find the download link here.

James Dean, dead at 24 due to an unfortunate car crash, was a very talented American actor who amazed the public with a role that seemed to perfectly suit him, and I’m talking about the 1955 film Rebel Without a Cause. To honour his memory, Robert Altman, who also passed away at the age of 81, directed a documentary called The James Dean Story. If you’d like to see Dean’s story, the download link is right here.

So, I’ve heard you fancy zombies and their never-dying appetite for killing! With Halloween knocking its fleshless fist at our door, it’s always a good idea to scare the bejesus out of our kids, neighbours and, why not, pet(s) with a classic horror movie; I’m talking, of course, about 1968′s Night of the living dead. Last but not least, we introduce our readers with an independent folk-rock band called The Decemberists. Colin Meloy (lead singer and songwriter), along with his other colleagues – Chris Funk (guitar, other instruments), Jenny Conlee (harmonica, keyboards, melodica, piano, accordion, and Hammond organ), Nate Query (bass guitar, string bass), and John Moen (drums, backing vocals, guitar, melodica), released a debut EP (5 Songs) back in 2001. To celebrate Colin’s birthday (which is this week), BitTorrent made available a selection of songs, including tunes from The Crane Wife, amongst others. You can download it here.
