Free Music Downloads: Today’s Treat

Free downloads for music lovers is like candy for kids so we thought to scoop up such free releases and spread the word about them as often as we can here at P2PON. This section will compile reports taken from various sources just to keep you posted with the latest free music downloads made available by emerging or consecrated artists (and include, of course, links for free downloads).

So let’s check out what’s on today’s plate:

1. 65daysofstaitc – ‘The Last Dance’ Ep

65daysofstaitc, arguably one of the most astonishing live acts the UK has to offer will be doing a run of festivals this summer including headline slots at 2000 Trees and Tramlines festival. As a taster, the band has collated works from across some of their records and are offering a free download/streaming EP.

‘We always planned to have a quiet year show-wise, because we are currently working on a new record. So whilst we are only doing a handful of festivals, it’s really nice that these include a bunch of headline shows in festivals around the UK and Europe and are also getting to a couple of places we have never played before. Feels good to be spreading the 65 noise that little bit further with each passing year.

Since we’ll hopefully be playing to quite a lot of people of have probably never heard or even heard of us before, it made sense to collect together a selection of songs from our last few records and make a kind of ’65 Primer’ that people can download for free and share around and get to know some of our songs before they get to the festival. They can practise their dancing, maybe’. Says the band

2. Amanda Palmer – ‘Do It With A Rockstar’

Amanda Palmer made headlines recently after a massively successful Kickstarter campaign to fund her soon-to-be released album Theatre Is Evil.

Featuring her new band, The Grand Theft Orchestra, Palmer has handed down her new single Do It With a Rockstar to fans for free download. The track was originally available on her website for a very limited time, but it’s now out there for all to enjoy.

In support of the album, which is set to hit stores in September, Palmer and her band will be embarking on a series of tour dates through the UK and US for a run of intimate live performances. These will be accompanied by a stunning visual arts showcase featuring artwork from the likes of Shepard Fairey, Kristin Hersh and David Mack.
