OK music fans, here’s another treat for you. Loony MP3 is a search engine for music files that allows you to both play and download your favorite tracks.

I personally liked the look of it straight away. Clean and intuitive. You can use the impressive search interface it offers to opt for the genre that matches your search through a drop-down menu. Currently, the site adds about 10,000 new tracks every day and, hopefully, soon it will also add a sort of a “Similar Artists” section based on your searches. Still you’re offered results following your search for a song, for example, you’re also prompted not only with songs related to that specific search but also with artists and albums related to your query.

Loony MP3 provides you with an alphabetical index as an alternative searching solution and with the possibility to thumb up or down and also leave lyrics for any track you find through its engine.

Besides multiple genres available for you to pick from (from classical and jazz to rock and soundtracks), the site also includes various categories to make your search for what you’re looking for or quest for new discoveries easier: Top Downloads, World’s Music Tops, Recently Added, News, Video.

Overall, Loonymp3.com is a great tool for finding and downloading (for free) the songs you love).
