6 New General Private Trackers
This years’ BitTorrent scene looks very promising in both terms of tracker activity and freshness, with plenty of new trackers having emerged on the Web since the month of January. The following is a brief description of some of the best newly opened general content trackers out there.
- The first general tracker worth mentioning is SeedBits.org. Since its first apparition on February 15, SeedBits has already indexed a surprising number of more than 750 active torrents and numbers about 360 registered users. Despite being labeled as a general tracker, the majority of torrents introduced so far are TV releases, including both popular TV episodes and XviD movies. The great thing about this tracker is its straightforward and neat layout, designed to keep things as simple as possible. Speed-wise, SeedBits stands out from the pack by providing seedbox-hosting support for all content, so you should expect high-speed download rates using a seedbox. The only drawbacks appear to be the wait times on new torrents.

Bullet-Torrents.com is another promising name on our list. Accounting for 300 members so far and listing 89? active torrents, Bullet-Torrents has a fresh look and is fairly easy to navigate. Launched less than two months ago, the tracker compensates for the low torrent count in terms of content quality. Another plus is its IRC channel, and its own private network at irc.bullet-torrents.com/#bullet-torrents. Although it seriously needs new uploaders to grow into a popular resource, Bullet-Torrents shows some good potential, and is definitely worth checking out.

Another tracker you should check out is the second version of Pirate-Bytes.net. Despite the limited proportions of its torrent database, Pirate-Bytes is a good resource of quality and diversified content, including new XviD movie apparitions, game ISOs and large packs. Pirate-Bytes also allows for high-speed downloads, about 9.5 MB/s in average.

Opened in November under a different domain name, SmokeIT.ro (a Romanian tracker) looks lively, with an impressive 1,350 active torrent count and 7,415 members. The tracker’s torrent database is diversified, with all content being currently set to freeleech. SmokeIT has a very appealing interface, which corroborates tasteful design with simplified, intuitive navigation features. AreaFile.com is another general content Romanian/English tracker worth mentioning. It currently lists 29,553 members and 900 active torrents that seem to have it all: from XXX to DVDRs/XviD movies to applications and music, it’s all there waiting to be downloaded. AreaFile.com seems to have started out on the right foot, comprising a large number of uploaders, a decent peer count on most of the torrents and allowing for high download speeds. Last, but not least, is TorrentZone.net. This general tracker shows very good activity, having drawn 3,193 members and including 769 torrents since its launch in February. The torrent database is quite diversified, although primarily oriented towards XviD and HD content. In addition to being well-populated, TorrentZone’s torrent list is refreshed on a constant basis and the tracker offers each new member 10GB upload credit at signup and possibility to connect through a https tracker.
