New LimeWire X Beta Version Released
The latest version improves downloads and brings updates for both Mac and Windows
When it comes to file sharing software, the offering for Mac is rather poor but one of the most popular programs in this respect is Limewire X. Mac users who are also p2p users and have LimeWire X as their favorite file sharing client can now try out a new beta version of the app. The release implements open source contributor Gregorio Roper's Matching TigerTrees to SHA-1 patch to make the downloading process better.
In addition to this improvement, the new version allows a higher number of videos the LimeWire Media Player can play with Windows 7. PC fans and users of Microsoft’s latest Windows version are told that integration is still in the early stages, but they are encouraged to inform the development team of any bugs they may find.
While the release notes reveal a fix specific to Mac platform – “Fix exceptions when viewing videos in the Media Player for Mac OS X,” the Windows version also got tweaked this way. The developers went further adding keyboard shortcut keys for the Media Player for videos viewed in full-screen mode which are the Space bar, to pause/resume, and ESC, to exit.
The software’s open source code was partly the outcome of a devoted programmer community’s work and is available for free to any developer.
