P2PON Recommends: “Ink”
Each week P2PON presents a film and provides you with a link where you can download it and watch it in good quality.
This is not good cinematography, this is a splendid idea put in a film!
“Ink” is definitely one of the best films released this year. Chances are it will soon become a cult indie film but while comparisons to The Matrix, Dark City, and the likes have been quick to emerge, don’t expect anything as elaborate as that, in terms of effects or cinematography’ expect lots of heart instead!
You could say “Ink” belongs to fantasy films but its ‘purpose’ is to affect your very real world (and doubt it) and it damn succeeds. The film is about a crucial battle going on that us, human beings, caught in the wicked mechanism of a soul-draining world and used to take everything for granted, are not aware of – a battle between the incubi, who break into our minds and bring nightmares and ill-thoughts, and the, good spirits, storytellers, who cast dreams of joy and inspiration on us. Watching “Ink” is like following a puzzle coming together. I won’t reveal any other details for fear of spoiling the pleasure of discovering them yourselves.
“Ink” is not at all about movie technique or even good acting but originality and message which makes you easily ‘forgive’ all the flaws in the movie. It is thought-provoking from start to end. While maybe halfway through it many movie fans, especially those used to watching a film for which big money was spent, will give up or at least be uncomfortable with not fully understanding what’s going on, “Ink” does have the charm to keep you hooked until the beauty of the idea behind this production slowly infiltrates you, the same way the ‘good forces’ infiltrate into your dreams at night.
Plot Summary for Ink (imdb)
As the light fades and the city goes to sleep, two forces emerge. They are invisible except for the power they exert over us in our sleep, battling for our souls through dreams. One force delivers hope and strength through good dreams; the other infuses the subconscious with desperation through nightmares.
But the originality surrounding this movie doesn’t stop here – instead of complaining about lost revenue due to illegal file sharing (the film occupies the fourth position in Top Most Downloaded Movies via BitTorrent) the makers of “Ink” are happy their movie got this kind of exposure on p2p networks. Below you can read their message posted by TorrentFreak. Long live Bittorent and filmmakers with this attitude!
Dear Fans and Friends,
Over the weekend something pretty extraordinary happened. Ink got ripped off. Someone bit torrented the movie (we knew this would happen) and they posted it on every pirate site out there. What we didn’t expect was that within 24 hours Ink would blow up. Ink became the number 1 most downloaded movie on several sites having been downloaded somewhere between 150,000 to 200,000 times as far as we can tell. Knowing there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it, we’ve embraced the piracy and are just happy Ink is getting unprecedented exposure.
As a result, Ink is now ranked #16 on IMDb’s movie meter and is currently one of the top 20 most popular movies in the world.
This all started as a result of the completely underground buzz that you’ve each helped us create. We’ve had no distributor, no real advertising and yet the word of mouth that you’ve generated has made the film blow up as soon as it became available worldwide. So many of you came to see the movie multiple times, bringing friends and family and many of you have bought the DVD and Blu-ray from us. All of this built up and built up and suddenly it exploded.
We don’t know exactly where this will all lead, but the exposure is unquestionably a positive thing.
Ink hits Netflix, Blockbuster, iTunes and many more tomorrow! Remember to get your signed copies, t-shirts and posters at the Ink Store.
Thank you so much for the constant love and support.Jamin and Kiowa
