Shakira: File Sharing is Good!
Shakira opposes Lilly Ann and the likes who are supporting Government's plans to crack down on the illegal file sharing

Shakira hits back at Lilly Ann's rant against illegal downloading
A new showbiz figure jumps into the file sharing debate. After publishing several posts last month related to the dispute between different artists regarding how illegal file sharing and those who practice it should be dealt with, dispute which really took off when British pop singer Lily Allen posted on her blog her rant against the artists who defend file sharing, today we report about Latin ‘shake-it-all’ artist Shakira joining the hot topic.
The Columbian superstar Shakira reacted against Lily Allen’s claims that file sharing is ‘disastrous’ saying that, in fact, the phenomenon brings her closer to fans.
“I like what's going on because I feel closer to the fans and the people who appreciate the music.”
Last month Lily Allen used her MySpace blog to complain about illegal downloading causing great damages to British music industry. She expressed her huge disappointment and disagreement with artists like Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) and Ed O'Brien (Radiohead) who support illegal file-sharers.
Now, Shakira comes with the exact opposite attitude towards p2p file sharing – “It's the democratisation of music in a way. And music is a gift. That's what it should be, a gift,” she said.
“I think music piracy is having a dangerous effect on British music, but some really rich and successful artists like Nick Mason from Pink Floyd and Ed O'Brien from Radiohead don't seem to think so,” she added.
