Machsend Offers Browser-Based File sharing
Today’s star is Machsend: a see browser-based file sharing service that takes the somewhat popular idea of mixing browser technology with p2p and uses it in its more unique way – employing Ruby and Yahoo's Browserplus extension. This extension (i.e. a plug-in) offers web apps file access and further desktop-like capabilities.
How it works – Quite simply actually, all you need to do is drag and drop a file onto the Machsend website which generates a unique Url you can then share with others. The availability of the files equals the time you leave your browser running."The transfers are peer to peer – straight between the two clients and aren't relayed or proxied," says Machsend.
For those worried about the RIAA knocking on their door the site assures – “we don't receive any of the data, or even the file names. It's totally private.”
