Hid.im: Easy Conversion of Torrent Files into PNG Image Files

I bet ‘torrent’ is one of the most used terms these days – especially on the Internet where sites related somehow to it abound. Here comes another such site with a different offering, however, – Hid.im lets you turn torrent files into PNG images, this way allowing the uncensored, hidden upload of torrent files to image hosting sites.

As Michael Nutt, the man who created the website, stated, Hid.im is "an attempt to make torrents more resilient. The difference is that you no longer need an indexing site to host your torrent file. Many forums will allow uploading images but not other types of files.”

How it works – quite simply, actually, just choose the torrent file, submit it to Hid.im, and then let it do its job. There’s a downsize, however – you are limited to files under 250KB.

The message can be decoded using either a Firefox extension or the site's bookmarklet. While this concept of converting torrents into images has been given a try before (Stegtorrent), Hid.im is the first service of its kind to be web-based and not requiring users to install any application.
