Consumer electronics manufacturer, Zinnet, has just released their latest HD media player dubbed CinemaCube through which they aim to attract a new segment of consumers – p2p downloaders – as the new device incorporates a P2P BitTorrent client.
Priced $89.99, the CinemaCube hooks up to your TV and boasts USB connectivity that lets you to connect other USB storage devices that are able to play back media on it.
The device supports RM, RMVB, MP2, AVI, H.264, VOB, MOV, MKV, DivX, Xvid, and WMV video files up to 1280X720 HD (720p), and also comes with its own Bittorrent client which the company says "can be computer-free".
"Times are hard, and many people have had to cancel their cable subscriptions just to make ends meet," Zinnet COO, Robert Lo, said. "They think their watching-TV-together family days are gone, and their favorite movies and shows, too. But thanks to the CinemaCube, the future of home entertainment is here, and it is affordable. Home cinema is more comfortable and far less crowded than a public movie theater," he added.
I guess that’s one device media corporations will really hate, isn’t it?
