File Sharing Sites Taken Down, Web Hoster Has No Choice
A number of torrent & file sharing community sites have got the red light from Luxemburg's Root eSolutions following multiple legal threats, Gulli reports.
Among the unfortunate sites we find www.torrent.to, www.sceneload.com, www.relfreaks.com, www.datensau.org, www.flashload.org, and www.ddl-scene.com.
According to Gulli, a court ordered Root to shut down the sites otherwise the police would seize 30 of its servers. Though the hosting company managed to notify the owners of the sites about the imminent plug-off, the warning had no consequence.
Recently, however, some operators set to work and redirected their domains to other hosts.
Apparently hosting services from Germany and UK will be the choice for many admins but that won’t solve their problem since those services fall under the same European Union copyright law.
