The system comes with wide-ranging features which enable you to set a maximum capacity for shared folders, includes message alerts when the folder gets to 90% of its capacity. Jumbo frame support is intended as an optimizer for data transferring of larger files when heavy network traffic occurs.
Additionally, the device supports UPnP (for home use) and its media storage and playback capabilities are according to DLNA standards. You have the possibility to also use the system with Axis surveillance cameras for real-time viewing or recording.
USB devices, Bluetooth , extra drives are also supported.
The StorCenter ix2 works with Windows, Mac and Linux platforms, and is priced $300 (for 1TB of storage) and $480 (for 2TB of storage).
