ISPs Look at Millions to Be Spent Applying the ‘Three Strikes’ Rule

'three strikes' regulation is plainly expensive dictatorship
France has taken a firm stance against piracy which culminated with the adoption of the three strikes model. However, ISPs in this country may be in more costly situation than they’ve bargained for – they could see themselves forced to spend $16 million per year on implementing the controversial three strikes regulations, according to Futurezone.
Next week the French parliament might bring to the table a bill that would require ISPs’ cooperation with the music industry. According to some estimation made by the Paris-based daily La Liberation the bill in question could generate a huge wave of warnings about Internet connections being suspended- about 10,000 e-mails, 3000 letters and 1000 decisions…per day.
But don’t think the government doesn’t have it all covered – in case ISPs don’t comply with the same bill says they will be fined more than 6000 dollars per declined warning message or suspension request they failed to enforce.
