Italy to Put in Force French Three Strikes Rule against File Sharers
The French government has become quite a model for several countries in fighting illegal file sharing through its “three-strikes-and-you’re-out” policy having the record labels dreaming about other governments enforcing the same law.
Now Italy is about to get drastic on the Internet pirates with Minister of Culture Sandro Bondi promising to strengthen the intellectual property laws drawing inspiration from the French officials with whom he signed a deal for future collaboration against online piracy.
If back in 2003, the industry sighed disappointed because Silvio Berlusconi’s government was not successful in their attempt to impose very harsh copyright laws, 2009 looks to be a good year for the record labels now that Italy is going to prioritize cracking down on file sharing and apply next to France one of the most radical copyright laws in Europe.
How nice to see nations inspiring one another, isn’t it? So what if it happens mostly when it comes to persecuting or prosecuting people!
