PassThePopcorn Prepares a Hit Collection – "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die"

The ascendant torrent tracker specialized in movies PassThePopcorn.org (formerly known as Scenemovies) is adding some spice to its service guaranteed to make many people want a taste of what they’ve got.

Besides including about 3,400 torrents (which run excellent on Gazelle), the site has a new ambition – that of gathering a collection inspired by Steven Jay Schneider’s well-known book "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die". (click to see the list)

The first to come up with a similar initiative was actually What.cd which borrowed from the aforementioned book the idea for "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die". The site managed to achieve their goal and currently it has all the 1,001 albums from the collection. PassThePopcorn, however is not yet fully successful in their attempt but we’re sure their collection will be also available in its entirety pretty soon. For the time being the list is short by 524 films from a total of about 1,075. Naturally, the most difficult to find are some old films like those from the 1920’s which are yet to be acquired.

Filesharefreak reports that though open registrations are presently closed, there’s still another option if you haven’t already signed up as a member of PassThePopcorn – you can apply using their IRC channel below.
