EA Makes Spore Available Free of DRM

Electronic Arts has announced that it will be selling its popular video game Spore DRM-free, CNet reports. This decision comes after some other rather failed attempts to act in response to complaints about EA's use of DRM. Besides Spore, the most downloaded game on BitTorrent, several other games are already available on the service like Crysis: Warhead and SiN Episodes: Emergence. More EA games will follow this first group : Warhammer Online, Need for Speed Undercover, Mass Effect and FIFA Manager 09 will also be added to the collection with some others joining later.

The DRM free version of Spore will be available at the same price as that of the games to be sold in a retail store. The company restricted earlier the use of game on three machines and later expanded the restriction to five.
