Some Are Actually Thriving: PlayStation 3 Sales Reach 56% Increase Over 2007
The word crisis seems to be on everybody’s lips these days, doesn’t it? Well, there’s still a segment that seems not affected by the critical economic status spreading round the world – the gamers. They still got the money for the thrill.
We say that after Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft, the giants that virtually own the market for videogames, have reported their Q3 figures. The former managed to get ahead of Xbox 360 (370,000 units) with its Wii shipping 803,000 units. But the third in the race came Sony’s PS3 which only scored 190,000 units.
Even so, Sony’s growth in sales with 56% over the same period in 2007, as Engadget reports, is all the more astounding considering the violent strikes to the economy. That could be indeed due to PS 3 being the best Blu-ray player in the market.
