Nimbuzz Joins Forces with StudiVZ to Offer Real Time Web and Mobile Comumunication
Holland-based IM and VoIP services provider Nimbuzz has teamed up with StudiVZ, the leading German speaking social networking site (having about 12 million users). The deal will have StudiVZ integrating the Nimbuzz technology into its community, to offer real-time web and mobile communication capabilities to online communities. Additional mobile Nimbuzz features such as voice calls, chat, file sharing across popular IM communities will be offered in due course.
Nimbuzz has managed to raise more than $25 million in three rounds, most of it from Luxembourg-based Mangrove Capital Partners and it boasts about having an increase of 10,000 registrations per day, with a 25% active user base spread across more than 200 countries.
Nimbuzz founder and CEO Evert Jaap Lugt stressed the main advantages of the venture: “Strategic distribution deals are our key targets for growth and we are pleased to announce this important social network partnership just six months after our launch. The ability of social networks to provide a complete day to day experience is restricted by the nature of the product being tied to the PC. But people are mobile so by partnering we can blend our technology with their existing communities with the resulting product benefiting and adding value to businesses and consumers alike. This deal is just the beginning for us and we will be making further social network and operator announcements in the very near future.”
Nimbuzz intends through this deal with StudiVZ to enter a revenue sharing agreement which will involve income generated from ads sold on StudiVZ in the next year. According to the company similar agreements are to follow in countries like in Turkey and Italy.
