Foxtel to Offer Downloads
Foxtel has announced that they will make programs available for download on demand via the Web for their subscribers. The company will also transfer these programs to other devices.
Moreover, Foxtel also made public their plan to allow customers to download programs to a PSP-type mobile television device. The offering will include the download service on a USB memory stick, dubbed iQ2Go, for high-definition video playback on laptops as well as other devices.
"Why would you have a little player when you can have a stick that can go into any device?" chief executive Kim Williams said.
As announced, the iQ2Go’s capacity will reach 16 gigabytes. The program will come with strict digital rights management to prevent copyright infringement and Foxtel subscribers will be given exclusivity to using it.
