Dell and UMG Join Forces to Offer DRM-Free Music

Dell, the multinational technology company known for developing, manufacturing, selling, and supporting personal computers and other computer-related products, has announced its new partnership with Universal Music Group to offer either 50 or 100 DRM-free songs along with new PCs sold by the retailer.

This makes an interesting offer with - 50 songs priced $25 USD and 100 songs offered at only $45 USD not counting the price of the laptop or desktop PC.

There is a downside to this though – the bundles don’t come available on Dell XPS One desktops, Inspiron Mini 9 laptops, or on systems selling with Linux distributions or 64-bit Windows XP or Vista, Afterdawn reports.

The tracks will be offered in MP3 format and will be DRM-free with the ability to support any portable player. Although, for the time being the library is not impressive the company promises to further develop it soon.
