P2P Startup SkyRider Ceases Activity
Following an uneasy management period p2p technology startup SkyRider has closed its doors, VentureBeat reports saying that they’ve tried to get a comment from the company but with no success.
SkyRider was originally an anti-piracy company CRight which later turned to serving advertising in P2P search results by posing as users with highly relevant files to share.
Back in March this year NewTeeVee covered the rather difficult stage the company was experiencing.
SkyRider was a portfolio company of top venture firm Sequoia — the one that last week told its portfolio companies to reduce costs to the maximum just to cope with the economic crisis. That’s why Sequoia seems to be preoccupied with culling losses from its portfolio. The company had on its list of investors also Velocity Interactive Group and Charles River Ventures.
