Britney Spears Returns with Downloads Record

Record breaking hits are becoming a habit lately if we consider the Billboard reports. For the third time over the last two months another mark for the biggest jump to No. 1 rules the tops. After T.I. blasted up the charts and on Sept. 6, climbed 71-1 with "Whatever You Like" just to reach 80-1 last week with "Live Your Life", now it’s Britney Spears’ turn to attack the record.

The female artist who managed to get most of the fans and media attention not due to her artistic performances lately but rather due to her troubled social behaviour made an amazing comeback - a near-maximum 96-1 rise with "Womanizer," a really successful return to the top of the list for the first time since her debut single "…Baby One More Time" hit No. 1 in January 1999.

The song made the biggest opening week sales by a female artist since the tracking of digital downloads started back in 2003, with the first week downloads of the track going over 286,000.

"Womanizer" is included on Britney's sixth studio album, "Circus," scheduled for release on her birthday, Tuesday, December 2nd through her label Jive/Zomba.
