EULAlyzer 1.2: License Agreement Reading Made Easier

For most computer users, end user license agreements (EULAs) are just plain headache not worth bother with.

There’s no surprise there - who finds it pleasant to read through lots of pages of boring text before installing a software? If we add that most applications display their license agreements in small windows forcing you to do a lot of scrolling, the answer is obvious. That’s why many users either skim them or simply don’t read them at all.

However, not reading license agreements can be risky:
License agreements can provide details regarding the intentions of program, and other bundled components. I’m sure installing an app, only to have your desktop crowded with ads has happened to you at some point. The license agreement that you simply skipped may have said something about that. The idea is that not reading the license agreements can have you agreeing to lots of dubious things otherwise not on your liking. Some products even rely on you not reading those tedious license agreements.

That’s why you should never skip reading them. The good news is that now there's an easier way to do that. It’s called EULAlyzer.

EULAlyzer has the capability of analyzing license agreements in seconds, and offer a comprehensive listing of potentially crucial words and phrases. This way you can easily find out if the program you're about to install includes pop-up ads, sends out personally identifiable information, uses unique identifiers to track you, or many other things you may be interested in knowing.

The Benefits

  • Discover potentially hidden behavior about the software you're going to install
  • Pick up on things you missed when reading license agreements
  • Keep a saved database of the license agreements you view
  • Instant results - super-fast analysis in just a second

Moreover, there’s such a thing called the EULA Research Center, which optionally lets anyone anonymously submit license agreements they scan to help improving the program.

So from now on when installing software you can pop license agreement into EULAlyzer, and EULAlyze it!
