Single Wrench, an Alternative to FTP: Sharing Small Business Files Easier

Single Wrench is a secure file-sharing service, promising to replace FTP transfers. It offers a safer and more convenient way of transferring files between co-workers, customers, and those for whom an FTP connection doesn’t represent the ideal solution.

How it works:

Single Wrench installs as a Java applet from your browser, and opens a toolbar that allows you to upload files through drag-and-drop feature to Single Wrench's server. You are then allowed to set permissions and sharing on individual files through the tool's web site. It will cost you around $5 per GB to share files using Single Wrench and there are also minimum storage fees per month. The service could be attractive for small businesses or IT departments in search for an alternative to FTP. For a more detailed guide of the service go to The How-To Geek.
