Facebook Getting Ahead of MySpace US?
According to the NME report for today, Facebook takes the face of MySpace US is playing second fiddle to! The site known for giving free reign to the creativity (or lack thereof) of countless millions apparently now must realize that the millions are not so countless after all. Currently, Facebook enjoys 132 million subscribers, which place it above and beyond the number of MySpace America members which is not mentioned in the report.
The figure is all the more surprising as Facebook (which, as The Star informs, has 500 employees) as back in March of this year the statistics indicated 67 million subscribers for the site. Naturally, it makes you wonder if indeed the site managed to almost double the number of its subscribers in only a few months.
Leaving the matter of who’s first aside, we can be certain about one thing –
social networking sites are not going anywhere (but up) especially that sometimes they successfully combine the functions that the old Pony Express and the television networks used to prop up, to be exact, the broadcast of information and the ability to interact with people on the same wave length. Considering that already different age groups show great interest for various social networking sites, we are only left wondering what new directions will these sites follow in the future now that everybody (living on Earth) has understood the dimension of social networking market.
