Bono Leaks Tracks from U2’s New Album
Four songs from the new upcoming U2 album whose release is due in November have found their way onto youtube.
We are used to these leaked tracks (usually accompanied by an 'adv' tag on torrent sites which translates advance, due to the fact they’re out long before the scheduled release date) coming from a high-tech source like CD mastering plants. Basically, the original material gets spread through many various methods, like, for example, radio stations or music journos which receive promo copies or because of the vigilance of some fans (which proves its importance here).
However, in this case the keyword is…Bono, that’s right, U2’s frontman himself. Apparently, a fan recorded the songs as they were being played at very high volume in the Irish rocker's holiday home in the South of France. Unbelievably simply, we know but that’s just the way it was.
As expected, the quality of the recording was not exactly CD material – there some “additional” sounds included such as the noise of waves and seagulls. U2 is now probably less pleased with the leak than their fans.
Them file sharers…they move in mysterious ways, don’t they?
