Only Minutes to Build Your Own Torrent MetaSearch
There’s a new BitTorrent search engine website out there which basically anyone can easily install and run. The credit goes to the owner of ReleasePirate.com who has put some efforts into developing a Torrent Search Engine script, and has now made it available to the public for free.
The script comes 150 KB in size, and has very little requirements in terms of server/system resources as it is totally based on the search engines of the BitTorrent sites (it’s not a database script). Notable: you can customize it a great deal – for example, it lets you add Google AdSense or any other monetizing solution to the site theme, and incorporate your own images, affiliates, links or other. Here are additional features:
- A pre-configured Hit Counter to track how many visitors you’ve had.
- A ‘Contact Page’ for visitors to email you - you’ll need to edit the send_contact.php page, and enter in your own email address.
- A ‘Search Cloud’ page that links (by default) to the most popular searches on www.torrentdownloads.net.
- The Plugin, Help and Blog links can easily be edited or configured.
Naturally, you have to have your own web domain first, and access to the root directory. However, if you choose to, you are able to create a subdomain and install it there.
How do I install it?
The name of the file is ‘search engine.rar‘. Extract and upload all files to your root (or subdomain root). (look for the "Download Now" link at this URL:)

How do I customize it?
You’ll be required a bit HTML and PHP knowledge if you aim for good-looks. When you want to put in some new torrent sites you can do it using the search.php page; however, you’ll need the exact URLs of trackers’ search strings.
