Metallica’s New Album Tracklist Made Public
The upcoming Metallica album, “Death Magnetic” is scheduled to be released on a Friday (September 12), for fear of piracy (leaking advance copies ) some say.
Metallica has long time adopted a firm stance against file sharing and that brought it some less wanted popularity. The rock band made a surprising announcement about the new album which is to be released in a playable Guitar Hero format on the same day it will be available in stores.

The album’s first single “The Day That Never Comes” has already got its video for which the band hired the skills of director Thomas Vinterberg. The video was also shot on a Friday and includes live footage: “We spent the better part of the afternoon playing . . . to a sold out crowd of dust and smoke just outside of Los Angeles,” the four horsemen write on their site.
Here’s another surprise for the fans – the tracklist to Death Magnetic, an album for which the band collaborated with record producer and currently the co-head of Columbia Records, Rick Rubin (photo – the guy with the long beard), who has previously worked with the Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slayer, Johnny Cash and many others. As you can see from the tracklist, the band finally comes full circle with a song trilogy started back in 1991 with the release of the self-titled album (or “The Black Album” as many have called it) which featured the first “The Unforgiven”, and continued on 1997’s Reload album.
