Trillian Puts in Facebook, IRC support to Astra
The IM application Trillian, has recently added new features to its soon to be released Astra product for alpha testers such as Facebook notifications and useful shortcuts that allow you to jump directly to stuff like photo galleries and user profiles. Still, there might be many those who will be sorry that Facebook's chat was not included. For instance, free competitor Digsby has integrated Facebook chat starting May, not long after the service was made available.
It’s nice to find out that the new build comes with support for IRC, the chat medium that has turned out to be quite priceless for things such as live blogging and customer care chat in ventures. Trillian also offers full support for administrative controls and server surfing. Apart from that, users are allowed encrypt the contents of their chat room if they have sensitive data being shared.
For the time being, Trillian Astra is in private alpha so if you want to try it out you’ll be required to to sign up. If you want to sing-up, click here.
