Personal Sharing Network with Joodo
If you’re into P2P, here's something you may want to check out – Joodo – a p2p device whose purpose is to let you build a “personal sharing network” through which you can share material – photo albums, video captures, etc. Joodo is a hybrid file sharing solution.
The service, which didn’t leave alpha phase, brings together a combination of Mozilla code, XUL, C++, SVG, PHP plus some other unrevealed elements that add up to a really versatile application that allows you to view things shared using your personal connections cloud. To cut it brief, Joodo is basically – YouTube and Flickr meets Pando. However, the mix is created within a self-contained, permissions-based system. There will also be less to manage in terms of user accounts.
Some specifications: it currently offers support only for Windows but it will soon be made compatible with Mac and Linux as well. Moreover, API seems to be in progress. According to Joodo’s CEO its “real business value will lie in third-party products designed to leverage Joodo’s platform.”
For the time being, Joodo remains private beta. If you want to try it out, click here.
