Over 5 Million Downloads of Nero on AfterDawn
AfterDawn proudly announces that Nero Burning ROM exceeds 5 million downloads on the Download Section on their site. We have to admit that the figure is indeed remarkable for a single software to reach. Moreover, Nero Burning ROM package is larger in terms of size than most of the software downloads that the site offers (the current version – 8.3.2.1 has 185.15MB).
Nero is a versatile, reliable, and easy-to-operate program very good for writing data as well as CD audio to CD-R and CD-RW discs. The application supports both ISO 9660 and ISO mode 1 and XA mode 2, and additionally includes on-the-fly disc recording besides overburning (if supported by hardware). Nero also offers multisession and mixed-mode recording, HFS, ISO/HFS hybrid, UDF, PSX, OFAS - which means optimal file access speed -, track-at-once (TAO) and disc-at-once (DAO) writing, digital audio extraction, and more other useful features.
From the site:
Nero is bundled with DVD drives, so the figure is probably small relative to the overall distribution of the software, but it puts it near the top on AfterDawn (although very far away from DVD Shrink's 17 million tally) so we figure that its as good a reason as any to mention the small milestone.
