'Heroes' Producer Open to File Sharing
Hiro Jesse Alexander, co-producer of "Heroes" and "Lost," doesn’t condemn file sharing.
Not so often you can see this standpoint (from someone in the showbiz) especially that P2P has considerably shorten profits from his shows (downloads of "Heroes" and "Lost" reach sometimes 10 million a week).
But this doesn’t make Alexander obtuse:
"People watching shows such as 'Lost' and 'Heroes' on BitTorrent is the present world reality," Alexander told Torrent Freak. "TV Networks have to recognize this, give their viewers more ways to interact with the shows, and find ways to generate revenue from every member of the global audience."
Allegedly, Alexander is also engaged in a project - a 13-part TV program about piracy.
It’s nice to see that although small, the number of those from the industry adopting this attitude towards file sharing is increasing; Filmmaker Michael Moore, for instance, has nothing against those who download his movies, provided that they don't try to use them for commercial purposes.
