Isohunt Collaborates with Jamendo
This really seems to be the age of fusions and mergers. The p2p phenomenon had everybody in the industry re-think their own standpoint.
The Canadian torrent site Isohunt and the European online music platform Jamendo will work together. Isohunt is currently featuring almost 20,000 torrents from Jamendo, making available over 150,000 Creative Commons-licensed songs. Isohunt states:
"You can now see Jamendo originated torrents highlighted by white tabs labeled "Jamendo Verified" in our search results, and here's a list of their torrents indexed on isoHunt. Their torrent descriptions also come in full HTML glory, like this one. In return, Jamendo is choosing isoHunt as their search engine for global torrents beyond their music database."
However, Isohunt has previously responded positively to Creative Commons. In late 2007, site owner Gary Fung, who is at this time facing a lawsuit filed against him by the music industry in America, even suggested a possible Creative Commons-only future for Isohunt.
