MPA Launches Campaign and Gives out File Sharing Educational Booklet

According to Businessofcinema.com two major industry law enforcers - the Motion Picture Association (MPA) along with the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) will set a campaign to educate about the risks that illegal peer-to-peer file sharing involves by giving out 300,000 copies of an instructive booklet called Respect Creativity, Use Legally. The happy recipients will be 300,000 students studying at the country's top universities.

However, this is not all MPA had thought of- the next day it teamed up with China Association for Educational Technology (CAET) to launch an anti-piracy campaign aimed at Chinese students aged 6 to 15 whose creativity was the main focus.

CAET is a state corporation formed in 1991which received China's Education Ministry’ approval and whose focal objectives are the organization, promotion and coordination of research involving educational technology and academic actions to build up international collaboration. The period for the competition is from April to June 2008 and there is a wide variety of formats permitted, the real limit being that of the creativity of the students. Entries can range from posters, animation, graphic design, pictures, poetry, music and movies to filmed debates and exhibitions. Organizers predict one million Chinese students will join this competition.
