Acrobat.com: Ready to Make a Good Impression
As from today the free public beta version of Acrobat.com (a Web-based supplement to Adobe popular PDF document creation application) is available, PCWorld.com informs. There is a generous offer on the site in terms of services designed to assist businesses that share and collaborate on documents. Additionally, it supports basic Web conferencing (desktop sharing included) and limited free conversion of documents to PDF format.
There’s a good support between Acrobat.com and the beta version of Acrobat 9 (also announced on Monday), which comes with menus for sharing and collaborating on documents. Acrobat 9 in its final version is due in July, the same date a new version of Adobe Reader will be released.
Many already say that Acrobat.com features prove to be an outstanding combination of services for remote partnership.
However, if you’re not a fan of Adobe's desktop apps, there’re still plenty of reasons to go to Acrobat.com if you’re involved in some sort of documents creating project with other people.
Acrobat.com includes four major components: a word processor - Buzzword; online file sharing enabled by the Share feature; a file converter that you can use if you want to convert (up to five a month,) documents to PDF format; and ConnectNow option ideal for personal Web conferencing. Last but not least there are APIs provided by Adobe to developers to ease up their work on service mash-ups.
