The BitTorrent Proudly Presents: AXXO’s Back

For those who have been waiting for this to happen (and surely there are a few) – aXXo is back. That’s right – probably the most popular DVD ripper has returned to meet his fans and retractors again. As TorrentFreak has previously informed us aXXo had decided to call it a day and leave the uploading business aside for a while. But yesterday, he made his comeback, and, as expected, not anyway but with a statement – a silent one, made how other than through the title of its new release - “I Am Legend”.

Meanwhile there had been rumors about aXXo’s “forced retreat” but eventually it proved out to be just some time off. After November the 11th 2007 the date of aXXo’s last release, an administrator on Darkside RG, the uploader’s official homeland, declared that: “aXXo told us that he has decided to take a break, so you will not see new aXXo torrents anywhere for a while. Please show your support by keeping his torrents alive until he comes back, as always, he will post here first when he does.” Not likely that the choice of his comeback, namely “I Am Legend”,is incidental.

According to TorrentFreak, aXXo’s decision to cut loose had come at a time when allegedly one million people were downloading his DVDrips monthly. Though how good are actually his releases is for many a matter of debate, his popularity cannot be denied. Many have praised him, just as many have expressed their disapproval of his work and the purpose behind it (or even have boldly used the aXXo brand to promote their own uploads, as in the case of KLAXXON).

Whether aXXo can be regarded as a legend or not is for everyone to decide but what we can be certain of is that file-sharing can obviously get your name on so many lips – aXXo has proved it too well.
